I have a goal for 2026. I want to do more email marketing workshops for other communities.

If I followed my old habits? I'd spend the next three months "planning."

I'd be perfecting my pitch decks in January.

I'd be stressing over my talking points in February.

And by March? I probably wouldn't have done the damn goal at all.

But I'm tired of waiting for the "right time."

I decided to lock tf in right now.

Instead of waiting for 2026, I talked about it everywhere and was offered an opportunity to do a workshop yesterday.

It wasn't about being "ready." It was about gaining traction before the year even starts.

You're doing the exact same thing with your first newsletter.

You've got the email provider. You've got the logo.

You've probably spent hours picking the perfect colors for your header.

But you haven't hit send.

You're worried it won't be good enough. You're worried people will think you're a fraud.

You're waiting for the perfect moment when you feel ready, confident, polished.

That moment never comes.

The women I work with who actually build momentum don't wait for perfect; they start messy.

They hit send anyway.

And the second they do, something shifts. It stops being this scary thing you're thinking about. It becomes real. It becomes a habit.

It becomes a business tool that actually works.

What Actually Goes In Your Newsletter

A newsletter is just a regular check-in where you show up and deliver what you promised.

Think about the people you actually open emails from.

You know them.

You like their voice.

You trust them.

That's what your newsletter builds.

Every newsletter does three things:

  1. It shows up consistently so your people start to expect you and keep you around.

  2. It teaches or entertains by giving them something useful, a quick insight, a story that makes sense, or a takeaway they can actually use.

  3. And it builds the bond so they get to know how you actually think and talk and what it's like to work with you.

That's what makes them ready to buy.

How To Write So People Actually Read It

Write like you actually talk. This means keeping things real and conversational.

Use white space so it's easy to skim because nobody wants to read a wall of text. It breaks things up and makes people actually want to keep reading.

Keep your sentences conversational and natural instead of robotic. Your voice is what makes people want to hear from you.

Use headers to break up your thoughts so your reader can find the important stuff without getting lost. It helps them scan and find what matters.

Use dividers between sections so things feel organized and your reader doesn't get overwhelmed.

Don't use a ton of pictures or videos. If you do use them, keep videos short because too much media slows down your email and lands you in spam.

Keep your sentences simple and conversational.

If you wouldn't say it to a friend over matcha, don't write it. Period!

How Often Should You Send?

Send once a week if you can actually stick to it.

If that feels like a lie, send it every other week.

Consistency beats frequency every single time.

I'd rather you show up reliably every other week than disappear after two weeks because you burned out trying to do it weekly. Build a habit for them and for you.

They need to know when to expect you.

You need to know it's not draining you.

How To End

End every newsletter with a real question.

When people reply, email providers learn you're a friend, not a robot, and that keeps you in their inbox and out of spam.

But also, you actually learn what your people are struggling with. You get gold.

Ask something you actually want to know the answer to.

Your Focus This Week

Pick your newsletter day right now. Tuesday? Friday? Wednesday morning?

Write it down so you actually commit to it.

Write one short, educational email. No overthinking, no editing for three hours, and definitely no waiting for perfection. Just write it and send it.

Here's an idea if you're stuck

Write about something you learned the hard way in your business.

Could be a mistake you made, something that took you longer than expected to figure out, or a decision you wish you'd made earlier.

Tell the story of what happened, what you realized, and what you'd do differently now.

That's it. Everyone has a story like this and everyone wants to hear it.

I got my workshop done because I stopped waiting for conditions to be perfect. I want that win for you.

Hit reply and tell me what's the one thing you want your list to know about you?

I actually read every single reply!

~ Kristina
